In the workshop of Ningbo Guangway Machinery, General Manager Chen picked up a newly produced hexagonal part and carefully examined its surface. It first shimmered with the uniform silver light of its galvanized layer, then key areas were covered with a robust blue powder coating. "This isn't just simple painting; it's a 'double-layer armor' tailor-made for the part," he said.
The creation of this part began with a custom-made hexagonal bar blank. The customer's specific requirements for size and material determined its initial shape. Subsequently, the blank entered the precision CNC machining stage. Under the automatic operation of multi-axis machine tools and the real-time monitoring of operators, the part was milled, drilled, and tapped, gradually taking on a precise final shape, laying the foundation for surface treatment.
The real core of the process lies in the subsequent dual surface treatment. First, all parts undergo rigorous cleaning and then overall galvanizing. This zinc layer acts like basic "rust-proof underwear," providing comprehensive and reliable cathodic protection for the steel substrate. Subsequently, based on the customer's requirements for wear resistance, marking, or aesthetics in specific areas, craftsmen perform precise masking before applying electrostatic powder coating to the target areas. After high-temperature curing, the powder forms a richly colored, durable, and wear-resistant coating.
"First, we galvanize the entire surface for rust prevention, then we apply powder coating to specific areas for reinforcement. This ensures that the parts are not only comprehensively corrosion-resistant but also possess stronger physical properties and visual visibility in critical areas," summarized General Manager Chen. This composite process makes the parts produced by Guangway Machinery more competitive in terms of weather resistance, durability, and appearance, and they are widely used in fields with stringent reliability requirements.
