Raw Materials Selection

Melting And Casting

 

Melting Process: Chosen raw material is placed in a furnace to melt. This is heated to an intense extent (most often between 1100 to 1200°C) to melt down to full. Proper fluxes can be used in this process to remove impurities.

Extrusion

 

Pre - heating: It is used to pre-warm the billets to an optimum range (around 700 to 900°C) to soften their plasticity in order to reduce the amount needed to soften.

Extrusion Molding: Pre-heated billets are supplied to an extruding press. Under die stress, the copper is caused to flow in taking desired special-shapred forms. Extrusion speed, stress, and stress have to be to specification exact to obtain dimensional correctness and surface finish in forms.

 

Post - processing

 

Heat Treatment: Heat treating is used to treat shape-critical copper extrusions following extruding in an effort to strengthen their mechanics by methods such as annealing to relieve stress.
