Special-shaped Copper Extrusions for Medical Equipment

Special-shaped Copper Extrusions for Medical Equipment

Copper Grade: Pure copper in highest grade, e.g., grade C11000 (tough-pitch electrolytic copper) is most commonly used. It is known to possess improved thermometric conductance, conductance in an electric context, and corrosive qualities required in most applications.

Raw Materials Selection

Quality Inspection: Inspection should be carried out in raw material copper to check for impurities, dimensional tolerance, and surface defects before processing in production.

Extrusion process

Heating: The heating is conducted to an optimum range of temperatures between 600 to 800°C. This makes the copper softer and pliable to shape.

Die Design: Die is manufactured in accordance with exact final product requirements. Die is made of material with strength power and resisting power to withstand strength during enduring in an extruding process.

Extrusion Press: Hydraulic or mechanical drive is used to drive heated copper billet through die. Proper speed and pressure management is needed to obtain equal section area and desired surface finish in material being extruded.

Post - Extrusion Processing

Cooling: After being extruded, shape retaining distinctive - shaped copper extrusions are quenched rapidly to maintain shape and mechanical properties. Water quenching or air cooling is carried out where necessary.

Cutting: The cutting tools or saws reduce to sizes needed by cutting the extruded copper profiles.

Surface Treatment: Surface treatments range anywhere from polishing to plating (for plating with nickel to be immune to corrosional attack) to applying anti-oxy coats to beautify further and strengthen the final product.

Quality Assurance

Dimensional Inspection: Utilize calipers, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to confirm that the shape of special-shapex copper extrusions is in accordance with design specifications.

Material Testing: Physical tests to determine material composition and tensile strength tests to determine material strength to validate material quality in copper.

Non - destructive Testing: Perform non - destructive testing methods like ultrasonic testing or eddy - current testing to inspect internal faults in the extrusions.

Packaging And Storage

Packaging: The specially shaped copper extrusions can be packed in film or placed in wooden crates to prevent getting scratched, rusty, or destroyed during transit.

Storage: Store in properly packed condition in an airy and dry area to avoid general deterioration and oxidation.
