Magnesium Alloy Castings for Heavy Machinery

Magnesium Alloy Castings for Heavy Machinery

High - Purity Magnesium Alloys: Employ magnesium alloys of high purity such as e.g., AZ91D, AM60B etc. The alloys are noted for good strength - to - weight ratios, good corrosion properties, and good fluidities while the alloys are being die - cast that are needed for parts of heavy machinery. Quality Assurance: Conduct strict quality control of raw materials. Analyze the composition of chemicals and impurities for the purpose of verifying compliance with the design specifications of quality standards.

Description

Die - Casting Process

Mold Design: Design precise and robust molds for the intricate shapes and sizes of the pieces of the equipment of the heavy machinery. The mold should be robust and heat and pressure-resistant while the pieces are manufactured using the die-casting method.

Die - Casting Parameters: Rationalize the die - casting parameters of pressure, injection rate, cooling time, and temperature. The injection rate should be controlled such that molten magnesium alloy fills the mold cavity but does not cause turbulence.

Post - Processing

Trimming and Deburring: Deburr and remove excess material from the surface of the parts of the die-casting for surface smoothness and proper dimensions.

Heat Treatment: Subject the magnesium alloy parts to the proper heat treatment processes of solution treatment and aging treatment for enhancing the mechanical properties of the magnesium alloy parts with increased strength, hardness, and toughness.

Surface Treatment

Coating: Apply surface-coatings of the components that are being die-casting for the enhancement of wear and corrosion resistance. The most familiar of these surface-coatings are electroplating, powder coating, and anodizing.

Surface Finishing: Treat the surfaces with surface treatment processes of sand blasting and polishing for enhancing the functionality and look of the parts..

Quality Control

Non - Destructive Test: Apply non-damaging testing techniques including the inspection by the X-rays, the testing by the ultrasound, and the magnetic particle testing for the detection of the internal deficiencies of the parts that are die-cast.

Dimensional Inspection: Take the measurements of the parts using appropriate tools so that they fall within the design specifications.
